Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for disinfecting and sanitising is currently at an all-time high, whether it’s in schools, businesses, public spaces or even your home.

Maintenance staff, individuals and business owners are increasingly looking for cleaning tools that will help them disinfect quickly and safely. And traditional wipe clean methods, spray bottles, electrostatic sprayers and even fogging sprayers don’t always do the trick in the fastest and most efficient way possible.

So, as you can imagine, there can be some confusion as to what cleaning tool or method to use when it comes to disinfecting your surfaces easily and safely.  Whilst spraying and fogging are seen as the fastest go-to method of cleaning, which one is actually more effective?

Here at CDR Pumps, we break down and uncover certain points, which will assist you in deciding which method is in fact the better route to take in disinfection.

Fogging:

Whilst Fogging Sprayers have the ability to cover open areas quickly and are offered in portable configurations. Fogging actually relies on filling the air inside a room with an unpleasant disinfectant mist.

Whilst fogging machines are compatible to use with COVID-19 fighting disinfectants, the big disadvantage to this is that fogging machines may not provide effective coverage on all surfaces and to meet cleaning dwell times. Moreover, the fogging process will only deliver small droplets on surfaces which result in uneven coverage.

Spray Disinfectant:

With the spray disinfectant and in particular, the SaniSpray airless disinfectant range of sprayers, they in fact do deliver the required atomisation with consistent and complete coverage (without drips and runs) to achieve specified disinfectant surface dwell times.

Allowing the cleaning process to be more efficient and effective than spray-and-wipe methods and fogging as the sprayers will completely coat surfaces with the disinfectant.

The SaniSpray sprayers are also very simple to use. Once you’ve inserted the COVID fighting disinfectant into them, you are then ready to use.

Both the Fogging and Airless sprayers are suitable to sanitise almost any surface large or small such as arenas, gyms, hotels, vehicles, food service, healthcare, dentist surgeries, housing, education, classrooms or even homes. But do bear in mind the longer dwell times and large droplets that are emitted with the Fogging machines can be a disadvantage.

And in comparison, the airless sprayers are actually designed to deliver the proper atomisation required to quickly and consistently coat surfaces to disinfect and sanitise efficiently.

The SaniSpray spray guns also come with interchangeable tips and adjustable pressure allowing the desired particle size. Above all, they deliver the highest productivity which helps to reduce operator fatigue.

SaniSpray HP

The SaniSpray HP is a high production Airless Sprayer designed specifically to Spray-Apply Chemicals to Sanitise, Disinfect and Deodorise Faster.

The SaniSpray HP delivers consistent coverage, without heavy drips and runs, so that you can achieve specified disinfectant dwell times. And includes innovative patented technologies to deliver the highest productivity on all your cleaning jobs small or large.

  • Food Services
  • Hospitality

The SaniSpray disinfectant sprayer is a good way to clean your workplace and protect people by spraying and disinfecting workplaces

Taking Responsibility to disinfect workspaces

With new Covid variants finding their way through, it’s as important as ever to keep your workplace hygienically clean.   Peace of mind is invaluable at times of uncertainty and looking after the health and well-being of everyone is still very important.  Cleaning your work area regularly plays an important role in reducing the spread of the virus among your workforce, customers and visitors.

As employers, we must protect people from harm. This includes taking reasonable steps to protect workers and others from coronavirus (COVID-19).  And we all know that Coronavirus can transfer from people to surfaces and can be passed on to others who touch the same surfaces – keeping workplaces clean reduces the potential for coronavirus to spread and is a critical part of making and keeping your business “COVID-Safe”.

The SaniSpray and Hydrus Disinfectant

KGT Logistics recently purchased our SaniSpray HP20 Handheld sprayer to disinfect their commercial fleet of trucks.   Martin demonstrates how quickly and easy it is to sanitise his own truck and ensure his safety from COVID.

To get the fullest benefits of any anti-bacterial or disinfectant, it needs to be allowed to sit for a few minutes to actively kill the bacteria and SaniSpray allows for that – you spray and you leave.  There’s no need to wait five minutes and then wipe clean like with many other procedures.  One of the biggest perks of the SaniSpray is that at the end of the day, you can spray and go and be confident that your team will be coming back into a healthy space the next day (or shift).

Some people can be concerned about using too many harsh chemicals too frequently, and as a pump manufacturer, we know only too well what kind of chemicals are in manufacture which is why we also supply Hydrus which are safe, broad-spectrum disinfectants.

Wait, there is there such thing as a safe disinfectant?

Hydrus have developed a biocide to destroy harmful bacteria that is non-toxic, doesn’t irritate your eyes and leaves no harmful chemical residue.  Their products qualify as a:

  • Biocide
  • Virucide
  • Fungicide
  • Sporicide and
  • Tubercolide

Whilst also being:

  • Non-toxic
  • Safer for your skin as it’s not corrosive
  • Non-mutagenic
  • Non-flammable and
  • Non-corrosive

The Covid-19 pandemic has been difficult for a lot of people, whether they are business owners or not, being able to keep things clean is just one of the many ways we can all protect ourselves but the main thing is that you keep yourself safe.

Enhancing Control and Safety in Tanker Unloading Operations

A long-term customer, who operates within the chemical manufacturing industry, approached us because they needed to modernise and improve control over their tanker unloading processes. Their existing systems operated by either using the “blowing method” or relying on pumps mounted on the tankers and weren’t particularly reliable, consistent, or safe, especially when it comes to handling aggressive chemicals such as 96% Sulphuric Acid and 50% Hydrogen Peroxide.

The Right Pump for Fume Scrubbers

Chemical pumps improve the performance of your fume scrubbers!
It’s a bold statement, but true.  Industrial ventilation plays a key role in workplace safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing plants. Industries like chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and metalworking rely on robust (and reliable) ventilation systems to remove harmful fumes, particulates,…
