We are seeking a technically focused Area Sales Manager/Account Manager to develop new business opportunities throughout the South East region of the UK, while managing and growing existing customer accounts. This role offers the chance to leverage your sales expertise and represent industry-leading products in a dynamic market.

BASIC SALARY: Salary dependent on skills and experience

BENEFITS: 22 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing to 25 days + BH after 3 years’ service), bonus scheme, healthcare plan, company car

 

LOCATION: South East UK

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are expanding our successful sales team and are looking for an ambitious Account Manager/Sales Professional to cover the South East region of the UK. This is a balanced role, with approximately 60% focused on developing and growing existing customer accounts and 40% dedicated to identifying and securing new business opportunities. Extensive training will be given in relation to our technical product range and solutions.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing accounts, building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and market share
  • Proactively generating and converting new business opportunities across your territory, helping to drive continued company growth
  • Effectively managing your time and sales activities to maximise performance across both account management and business development responsibilities
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and successfully closing sales opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle
  • Delivering a high level of customer service, ensuring clients remain satisfied with our products, services, and support
  • Maintaining accurate customer records, sales activity, and pipeline information within our CRM system
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sales environment, with a track record of delivering commercial results
  • The ability to identify customer challenges and provide tailored, value-driven solutions that meet their operational requirements
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office to effectively manage customer information and sales activities
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach, with the determination to create opportunities, overcome objections, and achieve sales targets
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to engage confidently with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • The self-motivation to work independently while contributing positively as part of a collaborative and supportive sales team

THE COMPANY: We are a leading chemical pump manufacturer for not only the chemical industry, but also the nuclear and pharmaceutical industries. Manufacturing chemical process pumps for many decades, we successfully opened our doors in the UK over twenty five years ago. Our central manufacturing facility based in Italy means we are ideally situated to support our customers across the UK, Ireland and East Asia and our team work closely with our customers to ensure their requirements are accurately met.

This opportunity is likely to suit candidates who have gained experience in roles such as Sales Executive, Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Manager, Business Development Manager, Business Development Executive, Field Sales Executive, Field Sales Manager, Area Sales Executive, Technical Sales Executive, Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Regional Sales Manager, Internal Sales Engineer, Internal Sales Representative, or Technical Customer Service professional.

You may have experience working within the chemical, manufacturing, engineering, industrial, wastewater, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, petroleum, food processing, or nuclear sectors, and possess an understanding of industrial maintenance and process applications.


We are particularly interested in candidates with exposure to pumps, valves, fluid handling equipment, pumping systems, process equipment, or related engineering solutions. Knowledge of industries and organisations such as BPMA, BVAA, pump manufacturing, pump installation, maintenance engineering, or fluid handling systems would be advantageous.
