With a national increase in coronavirus cases, good hygiene in the workplace has never mattered more.
People have been working really hard to keep workers safe and clean more efficiently to make sure the virus doesn’t remain on work surfaces.  However, this new way of operating can present wide-ranging challenges for businesses making sure workplaces are not only clean are also safe for employees.

Here are CDR Pumps, we fully understand these challenges and the daunting task of becoming and staying a COVID-19 secure business. We personally give our office space a deep clean with our Sanispray HP Airless disinfectant sprayers at least 3 times a week and our employees follow new hygiene protocols.

There are also certain things we do to try and keep our office space as Covid-free as possible. And so wanted to share a few tips on our experience of disinfecting our workspace and how we are trying to protect our own team.

Tip 1:  To reduce the risk of coronavirus infection within the office or workplace, schedule a deep clean rigorous cleaning schedule to protect yourself and your staff. It is important to stick to your agreed schedule whether it’s daily or weekly and inform employees of this.  As well as conduct regular air quality assessments at your workplace. And ensure a window or door is open to improve ventilation.  Tiny airborne particles can travel further than droplets and in poorly ventilated spaces this can lead to viral particles spreading between people. Good ventilation can reduce this risk.

Tip 2
Pay particular attention to cleaning high-touch surfaces around the office. The items that people touch often throughout the day. Ensure you disinfect items such as tables, chairs, printers, doorknobs, light switches, phones, whiteboards and handles. Tip 3
Provide extra non-recycling bins for workers and visitors to dispose of single-use face coverings and PPE. Tip 4
Use signs and posters to build awareness of good handwashing techniques, the need to increase handwashing frequency, avoid touching your face, and to cough or sneeze into a tissue that is binned safely, or into your arm if a tissue is not available. Tip 5
We found the most effective way to keep our office deep cleaned is to use the  SaniSpray handheld airless sprayer which has been designed specifically to spray apply chemicals to sanitise, disinfect and deodorise faster. We use them alongside our Hydrus liquid disinfectant which has been tested extensively and proven to effectively kill a wide range of bacteria and viruses including Covid-19.

Check out the video below where you’ll see our very own Brian King easily spray applying the disinfectant on all surfaces with an airless sprayer.

Two ETN lined magnetic drive pumps used in a tanker unloading project

Enhancing Control and Safety in Tanker Unloading Operations

A long-term customer, who operates within the chemical manufacturing industry, approached us because they needed to modernise and improve control over their tanker unloading processes. Their existing systems operated by either using the “blowing method” or relying on pumps mounted on the tankers and weren’t particularly reliable, consistent, or safe, especially when it comes to handling aggressive chemicals such as 96% Sulphuric Acid and 50% Hydrogen Peroxide.

The Right Pump for Fume Scrubbers

Chemical pumps improve the performance of your fume scrubbers!
It’s a bold statement, but true.  Industrial ventilation plays a key role in workplace safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing plants. Industries like chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and metalworking rely on robust (and reliable) ventilation systems to remove harmful fumes, particulates,…
